EXCITING NEWS: SACK SLAVERY IS BACK FOR 2021!
In 2018 we were privileged to organise an inspiring event called Sack Slavery. We provided empty coffee sacks to artists and creatives from all over the UK with the challenge to use them for creating works of art that shine the light on the horrors of modern slavery, whilst also telling stories of freedom, hope and manumission.
We showcased all of the work in a stunning exhibition at Cardiff's Sustainable Studio (pictures below).
This year, with so many of us locked down we felt that it would be a great time to run another Sack Slavery initiative. As things stand it would be premature to organise another physical exhibition, so here's what we're thinking - let's do a digital exhibition instead!
If you head to the GEAR page of our online store you will be able to purchase an empty coffee sack for just £2 (+ £3 shipping) and get creating. Once your piece is finished simply snap a photograph of it and send it to us and we will install it in our digital exhibition. The exhibition will go live on Anti-Slavery day (Monday 18th October).
If you have any further questions - get in touch.
If not - grab a sack and get creating!
